Technology and social media are a part of our everyday life (for many of us).
It's there from the moment we wake up until we go to bed. 24/7. New posts, new photos, new shows on Netflix, updates, news... It’s a daily onslaught!
To put it into perspective:
An average user spent 2.5 hours per day on social media in 2022.
50.1% of the time spent on mobile was done using social media apps.
Facebook is the most popular, with an average of 2 hours and 24 minutes each day!
Youtube takes an average of 60 minutes per day.
The average TikTok user is spending 95 minutes per day watching videos!
According to Forbes, the average daily time spent consuming content is now 6 hours and 59 minutes! This includes phone, TV, & other forms of digital media.
So let’s get real, and honest with ourselves for a moment...
How much time do you spend online? Truly 
Many of us have no idea. I didn’t...until I did. And that’s when things shifted for me.
Did you know there’s an app for that?! (ex Rescue Time) It was only after I was able to see the analytics (hours spent online) that I began to understand how much of my life was spent plugged in.
Many of us work online, read online, connect with friends online, etc. And in that way it's an essential component of our lives. But do we really need to spend AS much time as we are online?
Maybe. Probably not. Tomorrow we delve into what I call conscious social media & tech usage.
And what happens when we start to unplug a little more often…Cultivating healthy tech habits are so important for our physical, mental and emotional well-being!
