Gratitude is a powerful tool to transmute stress and bring you to the present moment. Practicing gratitude daily and cultivating this incredible healthy habit has the capacity to change our perspective and our brains!
From a neuroscience standpoint, gratitude fosters cognitive restructuring by stimulating positive thoughts. It has the power to shift our outlook as well as alter our brain & physiology. Expressing gratitude causes our brain to release dopamine and serotonin, the two crucial neurotransmitters responsible for our emotions, and that help us feel good. New neural connections can be formed in the brain based on the thoughts, emotions, and experiences of gratitude.
Gratitude is the single best way of shifting your personal vibration and it can happen instantly! Expressing and feeling gratitude delivers the highest vibrational frequency.
A great way to incorporate more appreciation into our life is to start the day straight away in an attitude of gratitude.
- Upon rising (before getting up or grabbing the phone) take 3-5 deep breaths.
- Now list a few things you are grateful for- either mentally or jotting them down in a book (gratitude journal).
- Notice how you feel. Is there a greater sense of lightness? More peace and harmony?
