HEALTHY HABITS DAY 28: FULFILLED
We made it! 28 days of Healthy Habits. We covered a lot of ground and explored many ways to incorporate healthy habits into our daily rhythm. How did it go for you?
The good news is: this is only the beginning! Cultivating healthy habits is a process. The idea is to make, small incremental improvements over time that build up to big changes and transformation.
The semi-bad news is: the latest research shows that in fact it doesn't take 21 or even 30 days to build a habit. It actually takes more than 2 months for a new behaviour/habit to become automatic. 66 days to be exact. Of course it will vary depending on the person, their environment & circumstances and the habit they're building. Some are easier habits to form than others.
My invitation to you is: how can you continue to cultivate healthy habits in your life? If you remember when we started, it was PICK ONE THING. Just one thing and focus on forming that one habit. And now you have a multitude of choices! And many more as I just couldn't cover them all in only 28 days!
Building healthier habits is not an all-or-nothing process, but rather an opportunity for self-discovery, and practicing compassion and resilience. I encourage you to continue the exploration. Practice presence, not perfection.
At the end of the day, the length of time it takes to form a particular habit is not so relevant. Whether it takes 20 days or 200 days, the effort has to be put in either way. The daily commitment to yourself, cultivating the healthy habits that contribute to your growth and evolution.
For today, let us celebrate our 28 days of Healthy Habits. Let us feel some fulfillment for our presence and participation. AND let us re-commit, form a new intention, ideate a new vision for what's next. The first 30 days start to build the habit, 60 days is when the habits start to solidify and become integrated in our consciousness. After 90 days is when we really start to see results and reap the rewards. At that point, fulfillment, (which is defined as satisfied or happy because of fully developing one's abilities or character) is inevitable.
Who's ready for another month of healthy habits and growth??
