HEALTHY HABITS DAY 8: BREATH

Practice a few minutes of deep breathing and observe how quickly your mood and circumstances can shift to a more positive state. A few rounds of conscious breathing can stop a racing mind, and quickly calm your nervous system.
Your breath is your anchor to the present moment.
A couple of long inhales and exhales can be the most potent of medicines- bringing you back to the present moment, and potentially offering a fresh perspective. Tuning into the breath and incorporating more conscious awareness about breath patterns cultivates a greater connection to the mind-body.
It's one of the quickest, easiest, highly effective healthy habits we can incorporate into and throughout our day. Cultivating awareness of breath and practicing deep breathing create more space within mind & body and in the here and now.
Tomorrow we will go into the benefits of breathwork. For today, you're invited to pay attention to your breath. Notice your breath patterns. Observe if you hold your breath and/or body in a certain way, especially in moments of stress and tension. If you find yourself holding, can you take a few deep breaths to see if the energy moves?
